On to Huntoon Point

Eyes on Little White Foot

Mt. Shuksan peaks through the clouds and snow drifts at Huntoon Point near the Mt. Baker Ski Area. The name Shuksan translates to, "Little White Foot" in the Lummi language.

Ice on the Little White Foot

The Lummi word for Mt. Shuksan also means Little White Foot. If you use your imagination, you can see a heel poking up and the leg up to the calf. I believe that is a size 9 thousand. This was taken from the sledding hill with a point-and-shoot camera.

Chain Lake

A small lake reflects fall colors along the Chain Lakes Trail. The trail circles through the Mt. Baker Ski Area and the road to Artist Point. Expect some exercise and spectacular views.

It was Another Day in paradise. Great hiking, fantastic company and this was our view to top it off!

Another Day

It was another fantastic day of hiking in the North Cascades. Today we hiked around the Chain Lakes Loop near Artist Point. I stopped for a few photos at Picture Lake before moving on to Milano's for dinner.
